Gamemodes[]
Gamemodes are what decide how hard your game is, and what reward you ultimately get. This can be selected when sitting in the chairs on the Hybrid Café. Every game mode has different enemies, Health, and rewards. Harder modes give more difficult enemies, 15% increased speed (for Hard+ including Grandmaster), less base health, and more rewards. Depending on your mutations, these variables may also change.
There are 8 modes in this game:
- Easy
- Medium
- Hard
- Apocalypse
- Master
- Grandmaster
- Sandbox
- Random
- Endless
There are also some gamemode(s) that are no longer in development, either in the Archive feature or have been removed/replaced:
- Black Blizzard
- Summer Event 2022
- Halloween Event 2022
- Winter Event 2022

Fight hordes of voids coming your way, in one of the hardest maps of them all. Beat the twin of Massive Void to win. There are 80 waves, and every damage you deal will give you 1 cash. Your teammates will get 0.4 cash for that damage. 25 Health Points won't allow you to leak much, so be sure to get your early defense started. Take note that this mode disables selling and all economy Towers give 0 cash, so don't use it here. You are capped at 4 players meaning 6 seat lobbies will not increase the max player amount. Enemies here are 15% faster than usual.
In-game: 'Survive 80 waves with only 25 Health. Waves are more brutal here. Selling is disabled, and farms and other income sources will not give any money.'

Master[]
You must solo this. You cannot afford to tank any damage here as you have 1 hp. Every damage you deal here will give you one cash. This mode has the same rules as Apocalypse along with Mastery Perks being disabled.Enemies here are 15% faster than usual.
Enemies appearing are the same as the apocalypse mode. you can check above for the list.
In-game: 'You're all alone on this one. Survive 80 grueling waves without leaking a single zombie. Zombies come in bigger groups and selling is disabled. Farms and other income sources also don't give any money. Mastery Perks are also disabled here.'
Grandmaster[]
Grandmaster is the hardest Gamemode, level locked to Level 50. Once you reach Level 50 and have gold-bordered a map, you will be invited to play. You can only play on maps you have gold-bordered. For a price of 500 gold per game (If your run did not end in Defeat/Victory (disconnected), your next entry will not charge you any gold), you get to play 100 waves on the hardest mode in the game - facing 3 Void Lords and new stronger enemies along the way, you also start with 1750 cash. Unlike in Apocalypse and Master mode you are able to farm and sell towers in Grandmaster.
This game mode has a set reward for each map that changes upon beating it for the first time. The reward on an unbeaten map is 3000, 4750XP and 1500. The reward for a beaten map is 2000 and 2000XP. 2x rewards Saturdays do not affect the rewards.
To unlock the Reaper tower, you need to triumph this mode on either a Medium, Hard or Expert Map, then you will be able to buy her in the shop.
In-game: 'Once you triumphed all 5 fields on a single map, you will be able to enter the Grandmaster field of that map. 100 Waves, 1 HP, and Mastery Cards become kaput. The hordes become extraordinarily dense, and an encounter with all three Void Lords is inevitable. As this is a dangerous field to step into, entry will cost you 500 Gold. Due to unknown circumstances, Mayla is absent and cannot be placed. You have been warned.'

Mastery Perks and Mayla are disabled for this mode.
Sandbox[]
Sandbox is a feature that allows you to open a testing environment, where you can experiment with tower sets or simulate waves. This feature is available on activation. You need to reach Wave 60, and this can only be used by 1 person. To activate, press the sandbox icon at the bottom right of your screen. For more information click on the heading.
In-game: 'Just like playing chess with yourself, Sandbox mode allows you to simulate waves and tower upgrades for you to test strategies. You can also spawn in a certain enemy to test a certain tower's limit.'
Endless[]
Endless is a never ending gamemode where enemies grow stronger in terms of health and speed every few waves. Every 25 waves after wave 100 have bosses, where you can expect massive spikes of difficulty. [1] If you chose to run endless on Hard, Apocalpyse or Master and go endless, Enemies there are 15% faster than the other modes. Every wave you triumph, you are awarded 13XP, 12 and a minimum of 2. Every hundred waves, your StreetCred reward increases by 2. [2] .
Black Blizzard (Winter Event 2021)[]

Random[]
The Random gamemode focuses on the RNG factor in game, and generates random waves from every other gamemode - that become harder every wave. The Starting Cash, HP and Dialogue (separate dialogue exclusive to Random) is randomized, capped at certain values.
This requires you to have 10 or more wins to play. The new restart feature gives the same wave structure as before for this mode.
In-game: 'Waves become groups of random enemies. Your hp and starting cash is also randomized to a small range. It'll either be a relaxing experience, or a rush of bad luck.'
Trivia[]
- When doing endless, you should select the 'Easy' mode as all enemies remain 20% slower even after Wave 40.
Patch Notes:[]
Reworked rewards system entirely
> Difficulties now determine the multiplier instead of the map.
> Playing a map+difficulty that you've already beaten will give you half the original rewards.
> "Gold Bordering" a map (beating all gamemodes) will give you a bunch of Gold/EXP/StreetCred depending on the difficulty.
> StreetCred gain remains untouched.
> Reward calculation formula can be found here as well as rewards for Gold Borders: [HERE]
